The Devices You Need In Your Home This Year

As we are getting closer to 2019, there are many devices out there on the market that are a must buy for your home. We will provide you with a list of what we think you should look to purchase next:

Ultrasonic Cleaner

We all have those small items within our homes that get neglected. Whether it’s cd’s,  watches, earrings or your prized ornaments, we often dust over them without giving them a proper clean. Many manufacturers are now building ultrasonic cleaners that use vibrating and high frequency modules to vibrate a cleaning liquid in a tank. The bubbles that are caused allow these products to be cleaned deeply but safely. These products are fast becoming a must have product in your home.

Appliances will always be updated and modernised so that we can always have the latest technologies with our homes. In 2019 black stainless-steel appliances will be all the rage. This includes appliances such as ovens, washing machines, fridge freezers and dishwashers. If you want to take colour schemes a step further the it is the year for you as appliances will also be able to be customised. For example, you will be able to change the front of your fridge door to a colour that suits. Bosch are one of the leading companies offering this and there will be an option of 24 different patterns or colours that you can choose from to customise your Bosch appliance.

Humidifiers and dehumidifiers are products that can adjust the moisture of the air in a room. With the rising number of allergies and pollution that we face, dehumidifiers are starting to be seen more or more in homes and businesses. Small dehumidifiers placed in specific parts of your house will be able to clean the air quality and clear the moisture in a room relatively easily. The same can be said for a workplace, but a commercial dehumidifier may be required if the premises are particularly large. Regular maintenance of dehumidifiers will be required, i.e. cleaning the filters and ensuring any vents and fans are free from debris.

Heaters and Air Conditioning

Preparing your home for all temperature swings is a great way of maintaining a temperate climate within your home. Complex and sophisticated home air conditioning systems are being seen more and more, so that in the warmer months we are able to reduce the temperature the perfect amount to make them more comfortable. Many systems, like the Nest for example, allow you to be smart with your cooling and control it from anywhere. These systems also have the ability to heat your home. The Mitsubishi electric heat pump has the reputation of being a leader in this type of technology. These pumps work by sucking in the air from the outside and either cool this air with an air conditioning unit or heat the air so that it produces warm air.

Amazon Echo

The Amazon Echo has been around for a number of years now but it still feels like new technology. Essentially what this device does is follow your spoken commands so that it can assist you with the day to day running of your house. For example, if you wish to listen to your local radio station, you can ask your Echo by saying the words “Alexa, play my local radio station.’ This device is then able to search local radio listings and play the radio station that you choose. There are other applications available but these come at an extra cost. Looking through your Echo manual, you will be able to see what is available.

Google have made a device known as the Chromecast. It is a fantastic device because you do not have to buy a smart TV, as this device will turn your normal TV into a smart TV. You do this by plugging in your Chromecast into a HDMI port into your TV. Then you are able to use the apps on your mobile phone to project to your television. Chromecast is also a portable device so you are able to move it from one TV to another.

Security is at the forefront of our minds these days. Whether it’s burglar alarms, CCTV or the latest locking technology, the fight against crimes persists. BeON have now developed a technology whereby the lighting system in your home picks up on your everyday movements and records them. Therefore, if you are not home, BeON will start to mirror and play back your lighting routines, as if you were home. This can then confuse any would be burglar as you are then not highlighting a change in routine.

Sonos has now made it possible to wirelessly play music around your home. The device works by having a speaker positioned in each room. You are then able to use a portable device to send the music or sounds that you desire and these will be transmitted to a particular room or all rooms if preferred. This is fantastic as it means you have full control of what you listen to around your home and you have the flexibility of listening to one thing in one room and another thing in another room.

Nest Protect

We have all seen smoke alarms and carbon monoxide detectors in our homes. Although these are lifesaving bits of equipment they can be annoying when their batteries run down or they are accidentally triggered. Nest Protect replaces these as this system can automatically test batteries, lights up when you walk near it, and can be synched with a Nest Cam which send videos and messages to your mobile phone in the event of an issue.

2019 seems like a technology packed year for devices that you can buy for your home. no doubt, more and more devices will keep cropping up as the year progresses. Keep your eyes open for exciting new changes soon to come.
